Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

You state on your website that your products are made by professionals. how are you professionals?
Airmid Holistics, LLC is owned and operated by a registered aromatherapist & herbalist, who graduated with honors with an Associates of Applied Science degree in Complementary Alternative Medicine and a Diploma in Aromatherapy, Master Aromatherapist, from the American College of Healthcare Sciences. ACHS is one of the United States' leading education institutes for the holistic arts. She also holds a certification in Natural Products Manufacturing and has dedicated many years to studying aromatherapy and herbalism. For more information about our professional experience please go to our About Us page!
Is it true your company is veteran owned and operated? Do you help veterans in any way?
Yes, our company’s owner and operator served in the United States Army from 2006-2012 and was honorably discharged. We have plans to begin donating a portion of our proceeds to veterans’ charities by 2023. Until then, please feel free to take a look at one of our favorite veteran charities and consider donating to them:
  • DV Farm – Dedicated to taking homeless and addicted veterans off the streets and help them transition back into civilian life
  • 22UntilNone – Dedicated to ending veteran suicide one step at a time
Do you have a storefront where I can go shop?
No, we do not. Currently, we work out of our home-based offices and do not have a storefront. Unless you see us at a local event where we have products for sale, all orders will need to be placed via our online store.
Are you participating in any local farmer’s markets/events so we can visit you?
We plan to participate in local events and farmer’s markets on Long Island and in the Hudson Valley of New York, depending on Covid-19 restrictions in our area. We will be listing all the local events we will participate in on our social media platforms, so keep an eye out for announcements.

Product Safety & Storage

I am pregnant/nursing. Can I still use your products?
We highly recommend consulting with your doctor about the ingredients contained in our products if you are pregnant or breast feeding. While our products contain all-natural ingredients, some essential oils are not recommended for use during pregnancy and/or nursing. Private aromatherapy consultations are available for those wanting specific blends to help support them throughout their pregnancy.
How should I safely store/use my products?
Your products should be stored in a cool, dry location with the lids tightly on. Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat.

Care should be taken to avoid getting moisture in the containers, as this can lead to spoilage. Use the dry, clean scoop that is provided with most orders, a clean, dry spoon, or a clean, dry finger to remove the product from its jar.

As always, avoid placing your product near the eyes, nose, and mouth. Take caution around other sensitive areas as well! While our products contain all-natural ingredients, sometimes they can cause irritation to sensitive regions.

Keep products away from children & animals. "All-natural" does not mean "all-safe" for children & pets. Use caution when getting in and out of your bathtub and handling jars after use. Many of our products contain oils which can make for slippery surfaces.
My product arrived melted/with oil separation. Is it bad now?
No! Our products are heat sensitive and because we do not use preservatives or chemical/synthetic emulsifiers, oil separation can naturally occur. Place your item in a dark, cool location and it will solidify again. If oil separation occurred, give it a quick stir and it will go back to its normal state. It is still safe to use!
How long do your products last?
Most of our products have a shelf life of six months due to the nature of their ingredients if stored properly in a cool, dry, dark location. Some even last longer, but caution should be taken after six months. Never use a product if it smells bad or has significant discoloration. Always inspect your older products closely. When in doubt, throw it out. You can always order more from us!
Why are your products so expensive? I can buy this at the local store/An Etsy Shop for a lot less!
Good question! We price our products as fair as possible for a small business. Many man hours go into researching formulations, companies that sell the ingredients we use, and then making the products ourselves, by hand, in small batches along with labeling, packing, and shipping the products ourselves.

Our products also use certified organic ingredients whenever possible & the highest grade, certified organic essential oils, which are more expensive (even in bulk) than non-organic ingredients. Our products contain no fillers, thinners, chemicals, preservatives, or synthetics (all of which can possibly be found in similar store-bought items) and we do our best to ensure that our products truly are all-natural.

Product Ingredients & Quality

Are your products certified organic?
Not yet! Currently, we are not going through the regulatory process of getting our products USDA certified organic, but we plan to in the future. However, most of our ingredients are USDA and/or Oregon Tilth certified organic. If we have the choice, we always choose certified organic ingredients.
Are your products vegan?
Yes! All of our products that use beeswax (our only non-vegan ingredient) come with the option to substitute the beeswax for a vegan plant-based alternative. We currently use organic, ethically sourced beeswax in our balms and salves. Beeswax can be substituted for candelilla wax for an additional charge. Candelilla wax is a plant-based wax that comes from the candelilla shrub which is native to Mexico and the southwestern United States. Product descriptions always contain the ingredients that we use so that our customers can make informed choices before ordering.
ARE YOUR INGREDIENTS ETHICALLY SOURCED/FAIR TRADE?
Yes! We put in hours of in-depth research when looking for our ingredients. If we cannot find information that clearly states an ingredient is ethically sourced/fair trade, we do not buy it. It is especially important to us that our products contain only ingredients that are ethically sourced and fair trade.
Do your products contain artificial preservatives?
Never! All our products are 100% all natural and contain no artificial preservatives, synthetic agents, fragrance oils, or harsh chemicals. If you can’t pronounce it, it’s not in our products!
do you test on animals? are your products really cruelty free?
We do not EVER test on animals and ALL of our products are cruelty free! This includes all the ingredients we use that go into our products. We do in-depth research to ensure the companies who make our ingredients never test on animals. And we promise, we only ever test our products on our (human) family and friends!

I want to order a specific product/gift sets for my whole office/family. Can you do a large order?

Allergies & Skin Sensitivities

Do your products contain allergens?
Our products contain a wide range of ingredients that could potentially cause allergic reactions to those with known allergies, such as sweet almond oil and beeswax. Our product descriptions contain a list of all ingredients in our products so individuals should take the time to read them over carefully before choosing a product. Airmid Holistics, LLC cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions that occur due to use of our products.
I have sensitive skin. Can I still use your products?
We recommend conducting a patch test of any new products before using them on your entire body if you have sensitive skin issues. While our products contain all-natural ingredients and are gentler than most commercially manufactured bath and body products, sensitivities can still occur in some individuals.

Don’t know how to conduct a patch test? Follow these simple steps:
  • Choose a clean, clear, accessible patch of skin to test the product. This patch of skin should be somewhere that you can comfortably leave alone for up to 24 hours, such as the crook of your elbow.
  • Wash and clean the patch of skin you’re going to use first to ensure that it is the product you’re testing, and not something else you applied earlier, that is causing the reaction.
  • Apply a small amount of the product to the patch of skin you’ve chosen, and cover the area with a band-aid.
  • Wait 24 hours to inspect the area unless you experience any burning, pain, or itching. If you experience any of these things, remove the band-aid and thoroughly wash the affected area right away. Do not wait to wash the product off if you experience these sensations!
  • After 24 hours, remove the band-aid and inspect the area closely. You may experience some pink or red skin coloration from the removal of the band-aid but this will fade clearly. Inspect the patch test area for any redness or raised, itchy skin. If you see any of these things, do not use the product as you may be allergic to one (or more) of the ingredients.
  • As always, consult your doctor if you have any questions about a reaction to any product you use. We are not doctors and cannot answer any questions related to why or how you had an allergic reaction to our products.
Are your products produced in a nut-free facility?
No. Our products are manufactured here in our home as we are a very small, home-based business. With no known allergies to any nuts in our family, we frequently have nut-based products in our home. We also have products that contain sweet almond oil, a carrier oil derived from almonds. All our products have the ingredients clearly listed in the product description and it is up to the individual customer to ensure they purchase a product that does not contain any ingredients they, or whomever is meant to receive the product, could potentially be allergic to.

Shipping/Returns & Exchanges/Damaged Items

Do you provide international shipping?
Currently, no. We have not yet expanded our shipping range outside the contiguous United States. Please check back for when we do so.
My product arrived damaged/broken or didn’t arrive. What gives?
We’re so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately, once an order leaves us, we cannot foresee what will happen to it. Please file a claim with the USPS at https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm.

If you need help filing a claim, please email us at airmidholistics@gmail.com and we will provide assistance.
I don’t like my product or am allergic to one (or more) of the ingredients. Can I return/exchange it?
We’re so sorry you don’t like your product but we’d love to get feedback as to why. Unfortunately, we cannot take back products or do exchanges for safety reasons. If you had an allergic reaction to one of our products, we’re sorry but we cannot offer an exchange or refund. But please contact us with your order number, product, and name within 7 days of receiving your order and we may be able to help in some way. You can reach us at airmidholistics@gmail.com.
how come i can only choose priority shipping for some products from may to october? Why can these products only be shipped out monday-wednesday?
We would hate to discontinue your favorite products as we enter the very warm (& in some parts of the country blistering hot) summer months, so our products such as body butters, salves, and balms are extremely heat sensitive. During the hotter months of the year, we ship our more heat sensitive items with ice packs and insulated packaging. We also only offer priority shipping and ship these items Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so that we can ensure your product gets to you as quick as possible with as little melting as possible. If your body butter, salve, balm, or other heat sensitive item arrived slightly melted please refer to our question above titled "My product arrived melted, is it bad?". We promise it isn't and that it just needs to 'rest' in a cool location! It may not be as pretty as it was when we shipped it but it is still perfectly safe to use!
How long will it take for my order to be shipped?
As all of our products are hand crafted & made to order it can take any where from 3-5 business days for your order to be processed & leave our facility. We try our hardest to make orders quickly as we know our customers are excited to receive their products. Please note that during times of high volume ordering, such as during the holiday season, processing times may be extended. We will always let you know if this happens!
